New Idea

After much thought with regard to the interim show I realised I was heading in the wrong direction, and focusing far too much on a concept full of key issues surrounding societal effects, I should in fact simply strip it back to the basics and find an idea which will be eye catching and fun for me to make, seen as this will only be a demo I do not need to put all my thoughts in structuring a game which will appeal to Gaming companies due to the conceptualisation, instead I should make a game which, when in front of ordinary people, will attract their attention, and entice them to play.
With this in mind I had a think about what type of game I would play and what I would be evoked by, also what would be fun and interesting for me to play. When I was undergoing my degree I had an idea of making a game set in a school, the player could chose to be a girl or boy, a school child, and the aim for the first part was to escape school without being caught, the next part was to find suitable hiding for the day till school was over. At this stage the only place available would be an abandoned old factory, inside the child has to find refuge for the day so as not to be seen. At this point the game play changes and you discover that there are creatures inside who were left deformed and disfigured, these creatures are hostile towards humans and in order to stay alive and make through the day, you must trap and kill them before they do the same to you. In order to do this you can use whatever is available within the warehouse, for example a microwave in the canteen or a furnace. That was as far as I got with the game play, however, although I am aware that I could improve this I have adapted it to fit around my shopping center theme.
I am going to base the game on animal testing, so that I can make the little creatures, which will hopefully be evoking and fun to watch and play.
